What to expect

Frogeyes Reptile sitters will ensure your animals are looked after for you whilst you are away on holiday or for business. How does it work and what can you expect?

• Number and Species of animal to be cared for. (We can only offer care for animals requested)
• Number of visits required. (See recommendations below)

Recommended visit schedule: 

• Every other day works well for animals in need of spraying and regular feeding.
• Twice a week works well for animals such as snakes and most invertebrates.

The length of time taken on each visit can be determined when we carry out our pre care visit to understand your current routines.

Once we have all of the details, we can provide a quotation based on the number of days and length of time per visit, plus include for any boxes of live foods or frozen prey you require us to provide. Payment is required before we visit your home.

When the time comes, we will visit your address and discuss your animals, where they are in your home and what your current care routines are. We will discuss the schedule and dates and make sure you have total piece of mind that things are in good hands whilst your away.

We will take a key at this point and return it. Keys can be posted back through the door on the final visit.

At each visit we will carry out the below

• Offer food to each animal.
• Change water and clean water bowls.
• Spot check the enclosure and clean any waste / Shed skins.
• Check temperature in the enclosure.
• Visual check of the animals for any lumps bumps, signs of illness
• Spray enclosures (Species dependant)
• Refill any misting / spraying equipment.
• Check that equipment is working correctly (No blown lamps etc)
• If lamps are to be replaced, please ensure you have available spares for us to access.
• If required, we can check for clutches, pull them, and set up egg boxes.
• If you have anything you wish for us to do during out time then we are happy to accommodate requests.

* * Please note that when feeding Frozen thawed Rodents they need to be purchased from us (See price list). This ensures that the food will be defrosted and fed within our visiting time slot. 

When we have finished, we will send you an email to inform you of what’s been carried out for total piece of mind that your animals are happy and well fed 😊

We will always be discreet as we appreciate that not everyone is fond of Snakes and Spiders so we won’t be turning up in a highly decorated van letting your neighbours know what you keep.
